Pilot Recruiting

Virtual Blue1 has decided to offer a complete training package for new pilots, starting right from the basics all the way up to becoming the captain of the chosen aircraft. This is uncommon among virtual airlines, which generally do not have comprehensive prepared training materials.

Virtual Blue1 pilots complete a basic training program flown in the Beechcraft King Air 350 aircraft, after which the pilot takes flight and theory exams. When these are completed, the pilot moves to the aircraft type they selected in their application and completes a type training course which builds on the knowledge gained in the basic training and introduces the aircraft. New pilots are required to begin their basic flight training within 30 days of joining.

Once training is complete, pilots fly our scheduled flights from their monthly flight rosters or from the company timetables. Flights are logged by using FSAcars or XAcars software and to remain active all pilots must submit at least one PIREP per two months, unless leave has been granted by the administration.

Virtual Blue1 flights must always be flown as realistically as possible, either online or offline. The use of 'simulation rate', 'slew', 'pause' or 'automatic refuelling' features in simulator are not allowed under any circumstances during logged company flights.

The minimum age for Virtual Blue1 pilots is set at 13 years. This age limit also applies to the VATSIM and IVAO networks, in which many of our flights are operated. If the pilot so desires, they can also receive some flight training on their choice of online network.

In line with our regulations, the applicant should not be in the service of any other virtual airline. However, this rule is negotiable on a case by case basis, so authorization may be granted where there is a good reason to believe that the pilot will still be active in Virtual Blue1.

Please register on our forums before submitting your application and include your forum user name in the application. If your application is successful, this will speed up the process of adding new pilots to the pilot's area of the forum, which is not visible to the public. The forum language is Finnish by default, but once registered, you have the option to change the language to English if you wish.

Further information is available in our company regulations document : » Download updated 01.08.2015

You will be informed about your application as quickly as possible by email after the recruiting time is over. Please be careful to type your email address correctly in the application, as this is also the address to which we will send important information and updates in the future!
