01.11.2011 - Monthly Report: October 2011

In October 2011 we operated 111 flights, and a total of 223 hours and 15 minutes were logged in the simulator.

During the beginning of October we offically opened our Retro Section team. All pilots who want to fly retro flights can take an Avro RJ85 or McDonnell Douglas MD-90-30 aircraft and fly to our old destinations. This innovation received both negative and positive feedback. However, it seems that this retro innovation has increased activity a little.

Our Winter Tour 2011-2012 also began in October. This time the theme is the European Capitals of Culture program, from Helsinki in 2000 round ten cities that have been European Capitals of Culture since then, and finally arriving back to Turku, one of the current 2011 culture capitals. The first flights have been already published, and new destinations will be released each Saturday.

Stay tuned! Let's Do!

Virtual Blue1 opens its Winter Tour 2011 today. Our tour started from Helsinki (European Capital of Culture 2000) and it stops in ten cities that have been the Capitals of Culture, finally arriving in Turku. Of course, these are cities that we dont usually have in our timetables.

The next flights in the tour will be made available each Saturday, with the final flight back to Turku becoming available on the first weekend of 2012, with the tour staying available until the end of January. All pilots who complete the tour will receive a special event award from our staff.

31.10.2011 - Virtual Blue1 Starts Continuous Pilot Recruitment

Virtual Blue1 has decided to open a continuous pilot recruitment starting tomorrow: Tuesday 1.11. We hope that by recruiting in this way, we will encourage more new pilots to join. The continuous recruitment will remain open for a few weeks, although it will close early if there are a large number of applicants. Once closed, the recruitment will be opened again once the new pilots pass through their basic training.
