16.01.2011 - Pilot application closed

The pilot application is now closed. 20 new pilots were recruited. New application will be held after all new pilots have completed their training.

03.01.2011 - Monthly Report: December 2010

Last month of year 2010 went peacefully in the snowy skies. Virtual Blue1 operated total of 134 flights, in hours it means 239:24. Our special mention we give to Santeri Saikkonen, who was promoted to Senior Officer just few days ago. Saikkonen was very active during the autumn and early winter and flew more than 150 hours, all on the IVAO network.

18.12.2010 - Next Pilot Recruiting on Friday 14.01.2011 at 15:00 (Finnish local time)

Virtual Blue1 will open the next pilot recruiting on Friday 14.01.2011 at 15:00 Finnish time (13:00 UTC).

The pilot recruiting page can be found on our main site. All applicants should take the time to read the instructions carefully before submitting their application. The recruitment will close at the end of the weekend, or earlier if we recieve 20 valid applications, and we will inform the successful applicants by email afterwards.

09.12.2010 - OH-BLP en route to Helsinki

Virtual Blue1's newest Boeing 717-200 aircraft, OH-BLP, is already en route to Helsinki from Manchester. Pilot in command is our captain Geoff Cooper. The newest aircraft has Star Alliance color scheme and will start scheduled flights as soon as possible.

OH-BLP increases our fleet size to ten passenger aircraft. Blue1 will lease at least nine 120-seat Boeing 717-200 aircraft.

08.12.2010 - Santeri Saikkonen has started as our newest administaror

Santeri Saikkonen has started work as Virtual Blue1\'s newest administrator. Santeri will work as a trainer and press agent.

In addition, Timo Poikela has also been chosen for trainer\'s job. He will work with Santeri in the training department.

Virtual Blue1 warmly welcomes Santeri to our staff!

01.12.2010 - Monthly Report: November 2010

In November 2010 Virtual Blue1 operated 83 flights. Our pilots flew total of 167 flying hours and 13 minutes.

In November Virtual Blue1 also arranged Virtual Blue1 Real Operations Day event which was Virtual Blue1\\\'s first official event on IVAO network. The event went successfully and in the future Virtual Blue1 arranges their own events on IVAO network.

In November we got a new partner company, Aerosoft. As a part of Virtual Airline project for example our pilots can buy products cheaper. Aerosoft\'s homepage adress can be found from our links.

Last month was Virtual Blue1\\\'s first year of service since our company\\\'s re-establishment in November 2009. We published our yearly report which is available here:

28.11.2010 - Our last McDonnell Douglas MD-90-30 aircraft has left our fleet

Our last McDonnell Douglas MD-90-30 aircraft OH-BLE has left our fleet. The last commercial flight was flown yesterday to Zürich. OH-BLE will continue servicing in United States as a part of Delta Air Lines\' fleet.

Virtual Blue1 says big thanks for the McDonnell Douglas MD-90-30 aircraft type. Rather sad we say good bye to our traditional aircraft type. Our McDonnell Douglas MD-90-30 pilots will start now type training course to fly new Boeing 717-200 aircrafts.

25.11.2010 - Changes in our fleet

Virtual Blue1 has received its fourth Boeing 717-200 aircraft, reg. OH-BLI, painted in Sky Trickle scheme. At the same time, third McDonnell Douglas MD-90-30 -type aircraft, OH-BLF has left for a new life in America. OH-BLF will continue in Delta Air Lines service.

Also the last McDonnell Douglas MD-90-30 will leave our fleet during week-end.

The second Avro RJ85 has also left our fleet - 95-seated OH-SAR\\\'s leasing agreement has now expired and the aircraft will returns to its owner Cityjet.

12.11.2010 - Real Operations Day will be held on Saturday, 13th November in IVAO network

Virtual Blue1\'s Real Operations Day event will be held on IVAO network on Saturday, 13th November. The event is intended primarily to our own pilots who have been able to book their flights from our online booking system.

Virtual Blue1 celebrates one year of successful operations. Since November 2009, we have logged over 1800 flight hours from 900 flights and undergone a number of major changes. We have also realised many improvements to our web site and pilot services. Read more in our 2009-2010 yearly report which is published on our forum.
